Process Work: painting pieces

Much of my painting process is pouring, peeling, and placing objects in paint. I pour areas onto a resist paper:

More recently I have experimented with painting two sides of paper pieces. See side a and side b:

From these, I choose pieces for a larger work:

Once pieces are laid out, I use photos to decide the composition. I play with composition and layout of abstract works quite a bit.

Example of stored material detritus. There are many such boxes and containers in my studio. Often I return to these boxes to choose materials and pieces to make new work.

First attempts at knit forms.

Silkies were given to individuals as gifts. Reports on function and interpretation were made by fellow artists. Beginning experiments with "piles" or groupings of similar objects.

Stocking-like forms and experimentation of space and forms on the wall. Isolating simple forms against a white background as opposed to an overloaded space, as in the Stocking Cave pieces.
